Dublin 1-17
Westmeath 1-8
Dublin booked their place in the Leinster MHC final courtesy of a nine-point win over Westmeath in Cusack Park, Mullingar today.
The team in sky blue hit the ground running and raced into a 0-6 to 0-1 after 13 minutes but a Niall Mitchell goal for the Lake County knocked them back on their heels and they led by just 0-9 to 1-4 at the change of ends.
Half-time substitute Eoghan Dunne extended Johnny McGuirk's side lead with the first point of the second-half and a 46th minute Donal Burke goal wrapped up the victory.
Westmeath's woes were compounded when they were reduced to 14-men late in the 53rd minute after Paddy Doody was dismissed for a rash challenge on Conor Ryan.
Na Fianna clubman Burke top scored for the winners with 1-5 (1-1 from play) and Dublin now await the winners of tomorrow's second semi-final involving Kilkenny and Laois in the decider on Sunday, July 5.
