Eoghan O'Gara sends over his second point against Meath at Navan

Dublin will be without Eoghan O'Gara for the rest of the year after the forward suffered a serious knee injury in a club game at the weekend.

O'Gara lined out with Templeogue Sygne Street yesterday and following a scan today the injury has been diagnosed as an ACL rupture which means that he will not play football again for Dublin until next year.

"On a personal level this is extremely disappointing for Eoghan," said Dublin manager Jim Gavin on dublingaa.ie.

"His start to the 2015 season had been very positive with some excellent performances in the O'Byrne Cup and National Football League.

"Protocols have been activated to ensure that Eoghan will receive the best of medical care and the Dublin Football medical and coaching staff will actively assist in his recovery over the weeks and months ahead.

"We wish Eoghan a speedy recovery, and we look forward to seeing him back to full health in the near future."
