Ollie Baker is challenging his Kilmacud Crokes players to make their mark in the Leinster club SHC.

The Dublin hurling champions haven't had the best of records in Leinster down the years, but Crokes now have the chance to put that right, starting with a first round game against Laois kingpins Rathdowney-Errill in Parnell Park next weekend.

"To be honest it's not something we'd have thought of, but obviously after winning a county final we'll have to be looking at the next step as well," the former Clare midfielder told GrassRootsGAA.ie after last Friday night's Dublin SHC final win over St. Jude's.

"We've a home draw and we'll be asking the boys to show a bit of pride.

"There's a lot of tired bodies and we picked up a good few injuries there tonight. We're going to have to go back and reassess where we are and make a call on that during the week."
