St Oliver Plunkett's booked their place in the Dublin SFC final with a merited victory over St Jude's in the first game of today's semi-final double bill at Parnell Park.

Craig Dunleavy, Gareth 'Nesty' Smith, James Brogan, Niall Walsh and Bernard Brogan (free) were on target for Plunkett's in the opening 30 minutes and they led by 0-5 to 0-3 at the change of ends.

Smith was a constant thorn in the side of the St Jude's defence and the former Cavan player set up Bernard Brogan for the first point of the second-half.

The Navan Road outfit hit three unanswered points during the third quarter to establish a five-point cushion before Ronan Joyce pulled one back for St Jude's but that proved to be their only score of the second-half.

Bernard Brogan applied the gloss to Plunkett's victory with the only goal of the game on the hour mark and they now await the winners of the second semi-final between St Vincent's and Ballyboden St Enda's in the final.
