Cork's Ger Cunningham

Ger Cunningham has tonight been announced as Anthony Daly successor in Dublin.

The three time All-Ireland winning Cork goalkeeper has been handed a three-year term as the helm of the county's hurlers.

He has extensive coaching experience and acted as a selector under Jimmy Barry Murphy in 2012 and '13.

"This is another chapter in Ger's distinguished GAA life and I wish him every success in his new role," said county board  chairman Andy Kettle on the Dublin GAA website. "I am confident that Ger will build on the progress achieved by his predecessors over the next three years."

His backroom team has yet to be confirmed.
