Dublin defender Jonny Cooper is recuperating in hospital after being stabbed in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.

The 24-year-old's injuries are described as non-life threatening.

Gardai are investigating the incident which occurred on Dorset Street on the north side of the city at around 5.30am this morning.

He had lined out for Na Fianna in their defeat to Templeogue Synge Street in the Dublin SFC last night.

We can confirm that Johnny Cooper was injured in an incident that is under Garda investigation, we would like to wish him a speedy recovery.
