Brennan to miss out again

Ger Brennan will play no part in Dublin's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Donegal on Sunday.

Manager Jim Gavin has confirmed that the two-time All-Ireland winning centre back will not feature after suffering an ankle injury in training last week. Brennan underwent ankle surgery following St. Vincent's All-Ireland club success in March and has not seen any action for the Dubs this season.

"Ger Brennan unfortunately won't be available for selection this weekend, he had a bit of set-back last week," Gavin revealed at this morning's pre-match press briefing.

"He just irritated his ankle again, unfortunately. He was back kicking the football, he was back playing again but he has irritated it again so he has been on ice for the last couple of days. But we'll just take it one game and we're not looking beyond the challenge on Sunday.

"Unfortunately he'll miss selection for that game."

Otherwise, Gavin and his selectors will have a full deck to pick from, with Nicky Devereux expected to continue in the number six jersey in Brennan's absence.

"They're a resilient bunch, the medical team has done a great job so all the other players are fit and healthy," the Dublin supremo added.
