Dublin's defensive options for Saturday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final have been boosted by Jonny Cooper's return to full fitness.

Manager Jim Gavin confirmed at today's media briefing that the Na Fianna defender will be available for selection after he missed the Leinster final rout of Meath with a soft tissue injury. Cooper, however, faces a battle to regain his place after Michael Fitzsimons impressed against the Royals in his absence.

On the minus side, last year's centre back Ger Brennan remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from ankle surgery. The St. Vincent's man has yet to figure for the Dubs this season.

The All-Ireland champions are due to name their team to face Monaghan tonight.
