Jim Gavin says Derry will have no fear of taking on his high-flying Dublin side in the national football league final.

The teams are due to meet in the Division One decider at Croke Park on Sunday week and the northerners will be bidding to repeat their March 16th victory over the competition holders.

"I'm sure they won't fear us now, particularly after a good performance," the Dubs boss is quoted in The Irish News.

"They caused us a lot of trouble early on and throughout the game and we were very impressed with them and we talked about them a lot.

"It's not a surprise that they got into the semi-finals and it was a cracking win to beat Mayo.

"It's going to be a big game. To beat Mayo with 14 men is a fair achievement. Over the next two weeks - as we always do - we'll do most of our work on our team.

"Obviously, we need to work on the opposition, so we've a lot of work to do."
