The hoganstand.com football team of the week
Find out who made our football team of the week following yesterday's league semi-final double bill.

1. Thomas Mallon (Derry)

Mallon's save to deny Donal Vaughan in the 49th minute was, arguably, the turning point in the first semi-final.

2. Johnny Cooper (Dublin)

Cooper and his defensive team-mates were on the back foot for the first half against Cork but they came good in the end.

3. Chrissy McKaigue (Derry)

The Oak Leaf number three produced a commanding display on the edge of the square and held Alan Freeman scoreless from play.

4. Philly McMahon (Dublin)

Raided forward in the 40th minute and Michael Darragh Macauley was quickest to react to the rebound from his point attempt.

5. Donal Vaughan (Mayo)

Vaughan was one of the few Mayo players who fulfilled their end of the bargain when the game was in the balance against Derry.

6. Gerard O'Kane (Derry)

Nothing spectacular but a valauable contribution nonetheless from O'Kane at the heart of the Derry defence.

7. Sean Leo McGoldrick (Derry)

McGoldrick's determination helped him shrug off the challenge of Colm Boyle in the build-up to Kevin Johnston's all-important goal.

8. Michael Darragh Macauley (Dublin)

Most teams would have dropped their heads when Cork extended their lead to 10 points early in the second half but the Footballer of the Year lit the flame for Dublin's amazing comeback.

9. Jason Gibbons (Mayo)

Gibbons' emergence as a midfielder of real substance has been one of the highlights of the league for Mayo.

10. Mark Collins (Cork)

Collins profited to the tune of 1-1 during Cork's period of dominance but was left scratching his head as to what went wrong in the second half.

11. Mark Lynch (Derry)

A virtuous performance from the Oak Leaf captain which proved to be the difference between winning and losing.

12. Enda Lynn (Derry)

The Derry half-forward posed serious questions which Mayo's All-Star Lee Keegan failed to answer satisfactorily.

13. Eoghan O'Gara (Dublin)

Came off the bench to score three points and the Cork rearguard struggled to match him in the physicality stakes.

14. Brian Hurley (Cork)

Hurley can consider himself unfortunate to have ended up on the losing side after hitting five points from play in the first half.

15. Bernard Brogan (Dublin)

The 2010 Footballer of the Year answered Jim Gavin's SOS call by scoring five points and earning a penalty following his 44th minute introduction.
