A strong second-half performance saw Dublin come from behind and book a place in this year’s Leinster MFC final at Westmeath’s expense in TEG Cusack Park today.
Jim Lehane’s charges recorded an 0-18 to 1-11 win but they were made to sweat by a gutsy Lake County outfit.
The home side turned around for the second-half with a 0-9 to 0-7 lead to defend and their hopes were boosted by a Ben McGauran goal in the 36th minute.
That left the scoreboard reading Westmeath 1-10, Dublin 0-8 but the visitors conjured an impressive response.
Five unanswered points had them back on level terms by the 48th minute before Fionn Murray edged them in front with a converted 45.
Try as they might, the team in maroon and white were unable to stem the tide and it’s Dublin who advance to a final showdown with Kildare.
