Dublin North 1-14
St Kieran's 1-11
Dublin North claimed their first ever Leinster Post Primary Schools senior hurling championship title after edging St Kieran's College in a thrilling final this afternoon.
The capital side denied their Kilkenny counterparts a fourth consecutive provincial crown thanks to a blistering finish at Netwatch Cullen Park, where Sean Currie's goal proved the ultimate difference between the teams.
It was Currie's strike on 20 minutes that had Dublin North 1-7 to 0-7 ahead at half-time before the holders chipped away at their opponents' lead and catapulted themselves in front in the 39th minute with a major of their own from star forward Adrian Mullen.
Eoin Cody's frees helped the Saints move two in front (1-11 to 1-9) with 10 minutes remaining, but the would-be winners levelled within the space of three minutes and rode their momentum in the final minutes to close out a historic victory.
