Keaney back for Dubs

January 10, 2018

Dublin's Conal Keaney.

Conal Keaney has re-joined the Dublin senior hurling set-up for 2018.

The Ballyboden dual star announced his retirement from inter-county hurling in April 2016 but it seems that new Dubs boss Pat Gilroy has persuaded him to make a return.

The 35-year-old made his senior inter-county debut for the capital men during the 2005 National League campaign and went on to win a Division 1 title in 2011 before collecting a Leinster championship crown two years later with victory over Galway.

Keaney's return comes as a massive boost to the Dubs as they begin a new era under Gilroy, who succeeded Ger Cunningham in October.
