Next year’s glamour Ulster SFC opener between All-Ireland champions Tyrone and provincial kingpins Armagh could yet be staged at Croke Park after the dates and venues for the 2009 Ulster football and hurling championship ties were announced.
GAA President to attend dinner to honour 1958 Sigerson champions
GAA President Nickey Brennan will attend a special dinner in Belfast on Saturday, 13th December to mark the 50th anniversary of Queen’s University’s first Sigerson Cup success.
Season ticket introduced
The GAA has launched a reduced price season ticket for the 2009 season which would offer purchasers a chance to buy an All-Ireland final ticket should their county reach a decider.

Kilcoo pulled off a massive upset against Mayobridge last Friday evening to capture the Down Division One league title at Pairc Esler.

Warrenpoint gained promotion back up to top flight league status in the county with a three-point triumph over Annaclone last Friday evening at Pairc Esler.

With wins in Instrumental Music, Ballad Group and Novelty Acts, St Patrick’s GAA club from Saul was by far the most successful club at the county Down finals of Scór na nÓg in Carryduff on Sunday last.

Filming for RTE’s Celebrity Bainisteoir programme begins on Tuesday 25th November at the Quarter Road pitch,. The identity of the celebrity will be revealed when they arrive at 2.00pm, more details next week.

Forty years after the first ’official’ Scór competition in 1969, it was like old times again on Sunday night last at the South Down Scór na nÓg finals in the Saval Sports and Leisure Complex.
