Glasdrumman club notes

April 24, 2017

Glasdrumman seniors after last week's victory away to Attical, played a tight  game against a strong and physical Tullylish side. End to end play for most of the game with Glasdrumman battling hard to maintain a near level scoreline throughout. Unfortunately the game had to be stopped with 5 minutes to go in the second half when the two sides had drawn level, due to a serious leg injury sustained by Darren Joyce. We would like to wish Darren a speedy recovery and thank you to everyone who helped him on the field

5 of our u-12 kids: Cara Sloan, Riagan O'Hare, Shea and Aodhán Daly and Conor McClelland got to participate in Go games in Croke Park on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed their experience!

Thank you to Jackie and Donna for helping to supervise the kids!

A massive thanks must go to Stephen O'Hare for driving the bus, coaching and supervising the kids. Without you giving up your time the kids would have missed this brilliant opportunity.

The U-12s travelled to Annaclone on Sunday morning and despite a great display the home side proved to strong. Next game is a home fixture on Sunday morning against Saval.

Training continues on a Thursday evening at the quarter road pitch from 6.45 until 7.45.

The u-14s host Tullylish on Monday night. Details of this weeks training times will be sent by text.

Well done and thanks to our Scór na nÓg team in taking such a very active part in the Annual Scór Celabration held in Saul Community Centre on Easter Tuesday.  Niamh McDowell this year's All Ireland Solo Singing Champion , as well as singing her winning  song ,  joined last year's winner Mayobridge's Gavin Gribben for a duet.  Niamh then joined Ciara Rooney, Tara Grant , Aoife and Dana Leckey, Peter Doran and Cara Sloan from our club to showcase their talents and see Saul's All Ireland winning Senior Ballad Group, Clonduff, this year's Senior Ulster ballad Group Champions ( and hopefully All Ireland), Mayobridge's Ulster winning Scór na nÓg ballad group as well as the cream of the County's Scór contingent.   All the performers then  got together for an impromptu session enjoyed by all present. Our thanks to Donna Feeney and Joanne Grant for taking care of our team on the night and to all who made the night so memorable.    Our thanks to Niamh McDowell, Tara and Kerri Grant, Helen, Aoife and Dana Leckey, Clodagh and Caitlin Morgan and Aine Doran who all attended the recent  workshop run by the County Cultural committee on Amhrán na bhFiann.

Congratulations to Kerri Grant on winning the Clandeboye Goblet in the Ulster Girls' Championship in Hollywood on Friday representing RCDL golf club.
