Aughlisnafin club notes

December 06, 2016

* The Executive Committee and members of Aughlisnafin GAC deeply regret the sudden passing of Joseph (Joe) Kane, father of our esteemed committee member Joan King. Deepest sympathy to Joan, her husband Philly and their children Ben, Ruari, Conall, Niamh, Lena and the wider family circle. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal. A mhuire banrion na nGael, guigh ar a anam.

*The AGM which was to be held on Sunday past was postponed as a mark of respect and will now be held this Sunday at 3pm in Annsborough Social Club.

*The club will hold a fundraising December Duck Derby this Sunday 11th December on the Annsborough River. Ducks can be purchased at £5 each from any member of the committee.

*Schools Footbal - Comiserations to our U14 players Peter O'Hare, Morgan Croskery and Marc Quinn and their St Malachys High School team mates who lost out in their Loch an Iuir semi final match against St Eunan's College Letterkenny. The game was very close with the Donegal school leading 2-7 to 1-9 in the closing minutes of the game. As St Malachys threw caution to the wind to reverse the deficit St Eunans grabbed two quickfire goals. St Malachys did really well in this years competition with the semi final loss being their only defeat.

The School will however look forward to a first ever Rafferty Cup final where they will meet St Patricks, Armagh next week.
