Deegan takes charge of Down U21s

Conor Deegan has been appointed Down U21 football manager for the coming season.

The former All-Ireland winning full back, who had been linked with the senior post before it was filled by Eamonn Burns last year, will have Micheal Walsh, Paddy Hardy and Bernie Ruane as his selectors. Cathal Murray has also been added to the senior football management team.

Meanwhile, the new Down senior hurling management comprises Martin Mallon, Paul Coulter, Gary Savage and Jerome McCrickard.
