At the Summer Scheme last week, the highlights were visit of Phil's Petting Farm and the trip to Formula Karting.
The P5/P6 Footballers had two teams playing in the Celbridge County Kildare tournament on Saturday where they had games with Maynooth (Kildare), Fingallians (Dublin), Round Towers (Kildare), Rhode (Offaly), Crossmaglen Rangers (Armagh) and St Lomans Mullingar (Westmeath).
At the U12 Football Bosco v An Riocht, our boys lost 5-14 to 1-12.

In the U14 Football Warrenpoint v An Riocht played at Milltown, An Riocht lost by four on a 6-11 to 5-10 score line. The 'Point were a taller team, won possession easier and covered the ground quicker but for the most part An Riocht battled away and a great final quarter when we outscored the home team 4-2 to 0-1 almost brought a share of the spoils. Curtis Flanagan was excellent between the posts though tired a bit with the excessive amount of kick outs he had to make; Aidan Gribben was magnificent going forward and also did a fair amount of tracking back when not in possession. An Riocht trailed 2-6 to 1-5 at half time and lost the match in the third quarter due to losing their shape, just kicking the ball and not passing it, and too many forwards too static and caught behind their men and lacking the fight to win the ball.
But that last fifteen minutes showed just how good we can be if we want it bad enough.
Team: Curtis Flanagan, Michael Greenan, Ryan Mackey, Shane Quinn, Ryan Quinn, Eoin Killen, Reece Flanagan, Dylan Nugent, Aidan Gribben 3-9, Lorcan Donnan 0-1, Jack Rodgers 1-0, Ryan Cunningham, Mark McVeigh, William Harper, Ben Matthews. Subs Cameron Harper 1-0, Matthew McCartan.

An Riocht U16 Footballers had Clann Na Banna as visitors to Dunavil on Thursday and won 3-12 to 1-7.
An Riocht U18 Footballers beat St Patricks 2-10 to 0-7. Best wishes to the St Pats player who was injured. It was nip and tuck in the first half but on the restart An Riocht pulled clear.
Team: Thomas Sloan, Thomas Murnion, Shane Cunningham, John Joe Eakins, Daniel Hardy, Liam Rodgers, Christopher Flanagan 0-1, Dane Matthews, Conor Clarke 0-2, Paddy McComiskey 1-0, Ronan Campbell 1-5, Eoin Sloan 0-1, Jack Rafferty 0-1, Caomhan Campbell.
At the Senior Football in Downpatrick, An Riocht recovered from conceding two goals in the first couple of minutes to outplay Hoops and were better value than their two-point winning margin, 2-13 to 3-8.
An Riocht: Stephen Doran, Michael Clarke, John O'Rourke, Liam McVeigh, James Cunningham 0-1, Paul Allen, Conor Doyle, Ronan McAlinden 0-2 (2f), Deaglan Morgan, Conor Cole 0-2, Martin Clarke 0-3 (2f), Sean Clarke, Rory Cunningham 1-0, Noel McArdle 1-3 (pen, 2f), Declan Doyle 0-2.
Subs: Brian Rodgers, Kory Colgan, Brendan Allen
At the Intermediate Camogie Championship An Riocht v Castlewellan on Saturday in Ballyholland, An Riocht produced a disciplined display sticking to the game plan and moving the ball into a lively full forward line who thrived on early delivery and returned 4-3 from play in a 5-12 to 0-7 victory.
Castlewellan led two one when Joanna Sloan made a great save to keep them out and An Riocht responded with the next five scores including a goal from Aoife McDowell after good play by Maria Higgins and Lauren Clarke.
Joanna was in the thick of the action again midway through the half when she parried a blistering shot and Shaunece Harper completed the clearance to safety.
An Riocht led 1-5 to 0-4 when Lauren Clarke bagged a second goal, the chance looked to have gone after the ball stuck in the soggy goalmouth but her perseverance and no little skill combined to good effect and later Tiarna Donnan who had opened the scoring for An Riocht brought it to a close and sent An Riocht in 2-8 to 0-4 to the good.
Though Castlewellan opened the second half scoring, An Riocht now had a firm grip on proceedings and Aoife McDowell doubled on a Carrie Killen pass for An Riocht's third goal. Carrie had scored her third second half point before Aoife completed her hat trick when she followed in on Tiarna Donnan's parried shot and swept the ball to the net.
Castlewellan weren't finished however and Joanna Sloan pulled off another big save with Louise Rodgers clearing the danger. There was still time for Colleen Fearon to round off the scoring with a solo and low shot all the way to the Castlewellan nets,
Team: Joanna Sloan, Clara Killen, Louise Rodgers, Emma Jayne Magee, Shaunece Harper, Orla McAlinden, Nicole Cunningham, Aine Fearon 0-4 (2x45,1f), Patrice Matthews, Carrie Killen 0-3, Colleen Fearon 1-1, Maria Higgins 0-1, Aoife McDowell 3-0, Lauren Clarke 1-1, Tiarna Donnan 0-2.
Subs: Sophie Bowater, Nicole Kelly, Tierna Ronney.

The U14 Camogie match with Drumaness on Tuesday past was the last game of the league, and An Riocht won 10-6 to 1-0 after a great performance all round. The girls have had a great season so far and are now just waiting to hear who they get in the knock-out Shield.
