A founding member of the Gaelic Players Association has hailed their new framework agreement with the GAA as 'a deal very well done'.

Speaking to Newstalk's 'Off The Ball' programme, Donal O'Neill gave the thumbs up to the new agreement which was announced to much fanfare on Monday.

"The one thing I had always wanted to see and was adamant that would be essential to the longevity and the clout that the GPA would carry was a deal that enshrined a percentage of commercial income."

The Down native, who was the GPA's former commercial director, described the 15% share of the commercial pie as a "fair number" and "good starting point" adding: "It's just a deal very well done."
