The Senior Footballers beat Rostrevor 1-11 to 0-10 at Dunavil on Friday evening thanks to a solid team performance laced with some patches of brilliant play. Brendan McVeigh's handing under pressure was safe and secure; John O'Rourke and Paul Allen dominated the central defensive positions while Sean Clarke and James Cunningham covered the ground against a mobile Rostrevor centre field pairing; Martin Clarke was inventive in his promptings of the front six who all scored from play while tireless in tracking back, even blocking a Rostrevor effort on his own twenty metre line in added time; Brian Rodgers and Aidan Sloan came on to good effect. A marvellous display before a huge attendance that cries out to be built upon away from home.
