Ports Strictly Come Dancing - a fantastic 2 nights was had by all. Thanks to all the dancers for their efforts, commitment and dancing skills. Without your dedication, this show wouldn't have been possible. Winners on Friday night were Louise and Mick, and Saturday nights winners were Helen and Freddie. Memories and friends have been made from this experience, well done to all. Thanks to the Fundraising/Entertainments committee for organising and putting together a brilliant weekend. This has been in planning for a few months and the club has reaped the rewards. To the judges and MCs, thanks for your time and comments. Thanks to all the supporters and to those who donated to the dancers buckets, we hope you enjoyed the dancing. To all those who helped in any other capacity, thank you, I won't mention names incase I leave someone out, thanks to all.
Workshops - there are 3 U Matter Workshops coming to our club in February. These are aimed at improving and promoting mental health of club members. The target group is managers, coaches, senior players and parents. The invitation will be extended to other local sports clubs. The Workshops are as follows: 'Alcohol & Drugs' - What you need to know with Marty McCann is on Thursday 11th February from 7pm to 9pm. 'Mood Matters' - with Kiri Wilson is on Thursday 18th February from 7pm to 9pm. 'Think you know' Internet Safety by Terry Conlon on Thursday 25th February from 7pm to 9pm. All these talks will be held in our Clubhouse and it is important that we have as many of our club members in attendance. Tracey McVeigh, the club Health and Well being Officer, has organised these courses and we should appreciate her time and effort. Thanks to Tracey.
Coaching Conference - on Saturday 6th February in Cookstown, with guest speakers DJ Carey and Donal O'Grady. This is aimed at Camogie and Hurling. We have 2 spaces available; anyone interested please contact Paud Mason ASAP.
Fundamentals - is every Saturday in the Sports Centre between 2pm and 3pm for P0 to P3/P4s. Bring your own equipment, but will be provided if needed. £1 per session. Have FUN.
Keys - if any managers or persons have keys for the Clubhouse, from last year, can they be returned to Paud Mason ASAP. This is unless the manager remained in the same job. Thank you.
Gaeltacht Bursary Scheme - all details are on the poster on Facebook, for anyone interested. Deadline is Monday 29th February.
National League Challenge - all details are on the leaflet, get involved and support your club. Also be a bit of Craic. £10.00 per leaflet. Leaflets available in clubhouse and Declan Magee.
Memberships - are now due for the season ahead. The fees are the same as last year. Could all players get their payments made ASAP, this is for insurance cover. Thank you.
Darts - is in the Clubhouse on Saturday 13th February at 1.30pm. Come on out and watch some of the best local players. Everyone welcome.
Shinty - is on 13th February in the Park. There will be a ladies team and a mens team coming over from Scotland to play against Portaferry. More details to follow.
Club Monthly Draw - great success last year, it will also be run in 2016. More details to follow.
Down Club Draw - Our club has to purchase a certain number of tickets, if you want to join in 2016, contact Paud Mason or any collector. We had a few winners last year, so this year could be your year. Thanks.
