JUVENILE COUNTY HANDBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Many Congratulations to all the young Clonduff Handballers who competed in the County Championships over the last week in Saval. They collected a club record six titles with one still to be decided. Those who won titles were:
Ellen Shields U12 Girls Singles
Ella McCumiskey U13 Girls Singles
Orlaith and Aoife McCusker U13 Girls Doubles
Patrick Cowan U13 Boys Singles
Conor Milligan U16 Singles
Lyndon Brown U16 Singles
Jayme McDonald and Laurence Brannigan still have to play the U14 Doubles Final
Undoubtedly the best game of the night was one that Clonduff didn't win - the U14 Boys Singles between Padraig Clancy (Clonduff) v Tom Savage (RGU) - It was a great game of skill and entertainment with Padraig just missing out in a tie break - no doubt Padraig will be back!
The County winners now progress to the Ulster competitions with dates yet to be fixed.

THREE SOUTH DOWN TITLES FOR CLONDUFF IN SCÓR SINSIR!
Clonduff were the big winners in the South Down Finals on Sunday evening in Mayobridge collection three of the seven titles on offer and collected a runners-up spot - all four will appear in the County Finals in Banbridge Parish Centre next Sunday evening at 7pm.
Colleen Walls won the Solo Singing and new-comer (to Solo Singing) Mary Catherine Murray was runner up. Thanks to Paul Gribben, another newcomer, who also represented Clonduff in the the Solo singing
The next competition on stage was the Recitation and whilst Eileen McCusker told a magnificent story of a woman in 1916, she was unlucky not to progress to the next stage.
Our Instrumental Musicians - Vivienne Murphy, Paul Kelly, Sean & Mary Catherine Murray gave a masterful performance to claim the title as did the Ballad Group - Paul Kelly, Colleen Walls, Agnes Morris, Caroline Carvill and Martina Cunningham.
We wish them all the very best in the County Finals next week.
Well done also to Wendy Branagan who adjudicated the Ceili and Set Dancing.
Before the presentation of medals and cups the full house was delighted to welcome on stage, in his home club, the newly-crowned All Ireland Solo Singing Champion Gavin Gribben who received a standing ovation before he sang his winning song!
Following the distribution of medals and the calculations were done Clonduff were presented with the Peter Keenan Memorial Cup for the best overall club for the second year in a row!
Meanwhile the South Down Table Quiz will take place in St Peter's Club Warrenpoint on Friday 5th February at 7.30pm. Clonduff will be represented by Colin & Paul Shields, Brian Canavan and Anita Brannigan.

CAMOGIE PARISH LEAGUE
A mix of youth and experience braved the elements on Sunday afternoon for the annual Parish Camogie League. Some great Camogie was played despite the heavy pitch and the 'winter lay-off'. The younger girls on both teams really stepped up to the plate with the 'Red' team emerging victorious - they were managed by Kieran Kelly and Robert Wilson. The 'Black' team was managed by Geraldine Boden and Angela Cunningham who were very gracious in defeat!
Very welcome refreshments were provided in the clubrooms after the game where chairperson Guinevra McGilligan present the cup, first presented in 1997, to the winning captain Sara Louise Carr.
Many thanks to all the girls for turning out on such an inclement day, to the management teams and to the catering crew for providing the food to make it a great day for the Camogs of Clonduff.
