Club Down All Stars shortlist revealed

Sixteen clubs have players shortlisted for the second annual Club Down All Stars, with four-in-a-row senior football champions Kilcoo leading the way with five nominations.

Among the Kilcoo nominees are two sets of brothers - defenders Aaron and Daryl Brannigan and attackers Ryan and Jerome Johnston. Runners-up Castlewellan have three players nominated, while intermediate and junior champions Loughinisland and Glasdrumman each have two players in the running for awards.

The final XV will be revealed at a gala dinner in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry on Friday, December 7.

The nominees for the O'Reilly Transport Club Down All Stars are:

Goalkeepers: Stephen Kane (Kilcoo) and Mark Reid (Bryansford).

Backs: Aaron Branagan (Kilcoo), Daryl Branagan (Kilcoo), Conor Doyle (An Ríocht), Kevin Duffin (Castlewellan), Tommy McElroy (Bredagh), Gerard McGovern (Burren), Shane McNamee (Mayobridge), Daniel Morgan (Castlewellan), Darren O'Hagan (Clonduff) and Robbie White (Ballyholland).

Midfielders: Dan Gordon (Loughinisland), Paul Greenan (Kilcoo), Shane Harrison (Glasdrumman) and Stephen Rooney (Ardglass).

Forwards: Cathal Arnold (Saul), Aidan Burns (Castlewellan), Connaire Harrison (Glasdrumman), Gareth Johnston (Tullylish), Jerome Johnston (Kilcoo), Ryan Johnston (Kilcoo), Rory Mason (Loughinisland), Donagh McAleenan (Warrenpoint), Shay Miller (Glenn) and Ryan O'Hare (Ballymartin).
