Down Handball leagues commence this week - All players must wear gloves, goggles and non marking runners. If goggles are not worn the player has no insurance and opponents are under no obligation to fulfil a fixture against a player who is not wearing proper protective gear.
Currently there are 3 Clonduff key holders - Des McNeill, Sean Cowan and Colin Shields - Please contact one of them to practice or play in the leagues.
This week's fixtures for Clonduff players:
Nigel McPolin v 10
Ryan McShane v Sean Falloon

Patrick Cowan v Sean Cowan
Conal Gribben v Paul Downey
Des McNeil v Paul O Hare
Colin Shields BYE
Eddie Clancy v Lorraine Havern
Paul Shields v Fergal McConville
Sean McNally v Jarlath McCarthy
It is the responsibility of the person drawn first ie playing at home
1. To organise the fixture with their opponent
2. To forward on the result to the appropriate league results Co-ordinator
Each match will be two games to 21 points only (You do not have to win by 2 points, ie the score can be 21-20)
These games are organised for the participants to get enjoyment from playing competitive handball within County Down. With this in mind at all times we ask each participant to encourage sportsmanship while participating.

FOOTBALL
Kilmacud Sevens
Congratulations to Clonduff Senior Footballers who participated in the Annual Kilmacud Sevens on Saturday 19th September. They powered they way through the group stage undefeated and came up against the home side and eventual winners Kilmacud in the Quarter Final. The boys played great football throughout and can count themselves unlucky in not progressing further. Panel: Aidan Carr, Arthur McConville, Finbarr McConville, Stephen McConville, Jason Brown, Eamon O'Reilly, Kieran Trainor, Barry O'Hagan, Mark McPolin, Paul McPolin
SD RFL Glenn II v Clonduff III

South Down U12 Summer League - Clonduff 4-7 v Mayobridge 3-3
Clonduff U12 boys were at home to Mayobridge on Thursday evening past and were in great form from the start. Dominating the middle third Aaron Norris, Patrick Cowan and the impressive Shane Close worked tirelessly throughout. Up front Oisin Logan was in particularly good form bagging 2-2 while Dan Rafferty and Joey O'Hare tormented the opposition with their movement off the ball, as did Sam Bingham with his speed and eye for goal.
But it was in defence where the Yella's were most impressive. Growing in stature with every game both James Brannigan and Ronan Matthews in the full back line provided the perfect shield for Conor Grant in goal. Luke Fitzpatrick and Conor McCumiskey were superb in the half back line with superb interceptions, high intensity tackling/dispossessing and intelligent use of the ball. Will Kelly who was unable to start came on in the last 5 mins and added to the overall excellent result on the night. Well done lads!
PS. Speedy recovery to Max Dursley who is out with a hamstring injury
