Shane O'Neills club notes

August 31, 2015

Senior Ladies

It was disappointment tonight for our senior ladies, losing out by five points to Lisummon in the final of the Intermediate Championship, 3 - 16 to 4 - 8 on Wednesday night in Silverbridge. The Shanes played the better football in the opening half and led by six points at the interval 3 - 6 to 2 - 4. Early in the second-half they increased their advantage to nine but the more experienced Lisummon side never threw-in the towel and the eventually got to grips with the game and had the better of much of the second-half and ran out winners by five points to claim the title. Despite the loss the Shanes ladies and management team can take great credit for their performance tonight and indeed throughout the year and hopefully they can come back even stronger next year. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank the ladies and their managers for their dedication throughout the year and to congratulate Lisummon on their win and wish them well in the Ulster Championship. The club would also like to thank all the businesses and families who sponsored programme ads and to our jersey sponsors Hughes Camlough and Gortrush. The girls return to action on Wednesday evening at 6.45pm at home to Carrickcruppen.

Afterwards the girls enjoyed a well-deserved end of season meal from Camocha.
