FOOTBALL
SFC Round 2- Clonduff 1-11 v Rostrevor 0-15
Clonduff lost by the narrowest of margins in this refixed championship game which finished under the floodlights in Burren. Both teams had come into the game with a first round win but the Clonduff team showed five changes to the starting team that beat Bryansford in the first round. On a perfect night for football, Rostrevor played with the greater appetite and raced ahead to a first half lead of 0-8 to 0-3. Clonduff made first half substitutions to try to stem the wave of Rostrevor scores and also the corner backto a black card in this period. It took until 10 minutes into the second half for Clonduff to eventually get to grips with Rostrevor -Seamus Parr saved from point blank range and the early ball into Arthur McConville was proving fruitful. The Clonduff goal came from quick ball which was knocked across the goal for Rían Branagan to palm to the net to leave the scores at 1-7 to 0-13. Rostrevor doubled up on Arthur at this stage which meant Clonduff having to push further forward to try to find their full forward line. While this allowed Clonduff to eventually draw level with a couple minutes to go it merely left the door open at the back for another quick Rostrevor attack which resulted in the winning point with time up. Clonduff now play Ballyholland in a 'winner takes all ' game on Saturday while Rostrevor progress to the quarterfinals.

RFC Semi Final Kilcoo III 1-5 v Clonduff III 0-19
Clonduff Thirds continued their championship run with another local derby this time away to Kilcoo. After racing into an 8 point lead Clonduff found themselves a man down but this galvanised the 14 remaining players who put in a great shift. Kilcoo pulled the game back to 4 points with a goal early in the second half but Clonduff showed great attacking intent to pull away and win by a margin 11 points. Great credit must be given to this bunch of lads - to score 19 points in any game shows a tremendous amount of ability and team work.

ACMFC Carryduff 2-4 v Clonduff 1-10
Clonduff minor footballers made it through to the quarter finals with this hard fought win away to Carryduff on Tuesday evening. A converted penalty just before halftime left Carryduff leading by three points at the break.
A strong start to the second half turned the game Clonduff's way.
Leading by 3 points with ten minutes remaining the game took another turn - straight red for a Clonduff player and a goal for Carryduff left it all square. Once again the players showed great character to score the last three points and secure the win.
