*The U16's & U14's were the only two teams in competitive action in the past week. Both lost their championship games at home to St Johns and away to Darragh Cross respectively.
The U16's were the better side in the first half and led St Johns by two points. The 'Fin were in fine scoring form tallying 1-09, 0-4 of which came from frees. Eoin Lundy getting the goal for the 'Fin. Oran Flanagan was unlucky to see his penalty hit the post while St Johns tallied 2-04 for the half. 'Fin keeper Faelan Murphy made a superb double save early on and another superb save just before half time.
With the wind picking up in the second half to St Johns advantage they grabbed three goals in a five minute spell to turn the game on its head. They also took some good scores as the 'Fin battled gamely to remain in contention. The 'Fin, as usual, never gave up and scored three goals through Shea Croskery (2) and Conor Matthews to claw back the deficit but St Johns kept the scoreboard ticking over for a 15 point win. The second game in Group B is away to Carryduff B this Thursday at 7 pm.

*A depleted U14's team suffered a reversal to Darragh Cross in their final group game of the U14B Championship on Sunday morning. In trying to accommodate a re-fixture request by the opposition it inadvertently left the 'Fin with five regulars unavailable for the game. Previous to this the 'Fin won their opening group game against St John's before losing away to Castlewellan having beaten them just a fortnight earlier in the league. This concludes the football for this grade this season and thanks to all the players for their sterling effort all year. Four U14 players, Morgan Croskery, Dylan McKibbin, Rory Walsh & Michael Flanagan will now been involved along with the U12's squad for the upcoming U12.5 Championship.
*The U12's enjoyed a challenge game against Annaclone on Thursday evening as they look forward to their East Down division 3 league play off final against Ardglass on a date yet to be confirmed.
*Five of the U12's squad represented the club at the Down GAA Activities Day in Croke Park last Tuesday morning. Ethan Lyttle, Conor Donnelly, Conall King, Rhys Clarke and Donnacha Murphy were in a team with Newry Shamrocks who won their challenge game. They really enjoyed the experience and join a growing group of Fin players to have played on the hallowed turf at the GAA headquarters in Dublin.
*The Year 4's had a great morning of football in Annsborough on Sunday. The visiting clubs were Bredagh, Drumaness and St John's. The 'Fin had a panel of 18 players although half were Year 2 players keen to take some part. All the players showed very well with brilliant skill, team work and score taking. Joseph & David Steen, Sean & Ryan Croskery and Marty Og Flanagan putting in very impressive performances with Connee Flanagan and Conor Browne also playing well. The Year 2's also got game time and did very well when called upon.
