Down find the Meath U14 Football Academy too hot to handle

August 24, 2015

Another good days work for the Meath Under 14's

The Meath U14 Football Academy took on their Down counterparts on a miserable Sunday morning in Dunganny finding the Meath lads in fine form. As always Meath fielded two squads of equal strength, lining out as Meath North/South & Meath East/West.

The Meath North/South squad secured a very comfortable win in their first game against Down Red/Black while the Meath East/West lads had a solid 10pt win in their game against the Down team wearing Ulster colours. In the second series of games Meath North/South had to dig deep to overcome Down "Amber/Black" while Meath East/West had a comprehensive victory over Down Red/Black securing 4 wins from 4 games for the young Royals.

Compliments to both the Meath and Down squads for providing the large crowd of brave souls in attendance to four extremely entertaining games played in difficult & testing conditions but played in the right spirit throughout. Both squads again performed extremely well with the Meath workrate & teamwork complementing their technical ability.

Gerry Gibney & Mick Ryan did a good job as referees allowing all the games flow.
