St Johns Notes W/C 17 August 2015

The Seniors secured a comprehensive 4-22 to 2-5 win over Kilclief at Pairc Naomh Eoin on Friday evening. Scorers were John Clarke 1-6, Marty Keenan 1-3, Conor Gilmore 0-4 (0-4f), Conor Burns 0-1, Barry Russell 0-1, Chris McKay 1(p)-4, Conor Branniff 0-1, Harry McMullan 0-1 and Conor Morgan 1-1. Their focus now turns to the next round of the Intermediate Football Championship when they face Bredagh at St Patrick's Park, Newcastle on Monday 24 August at 6.30pm.

Congratulations to the squad and management of the Ladies side who have made it through to the final of the Ladies Junior Football Championship after a 4-7 to 0-3 win over Aughlisnafin in Kilcoo on Saturday evening.

The Minors were at home to Kilclief on Tuesday evening. Score details in next weeks notes. On Tuesday 25 August they are away to Dundrum.

The Under 16s secured a league win over Aughlisnafin last Thursday. This Thursday the sides meet again in the Championship.

The Under 14s suffered a narrow defeat away to Aughlisnafin last week in a high scoring encounter with the Fin side emerging as winners on a 9-8 to 7-9 scoreline.

The Under 10s are in Blitz action on Saturday when they play host to Aughlisnafin, St Pauls and Bredagh. Players to meet at the clubrooms at 10.00am.

The Under 8s are also in blitz action in Annsborough against hosts Aughlisnafin, Drumaness, Dromara and Bredagh. Players to meet in Annsborough at 10.00am.

Last week saw the last ever Camp JMac take place at Pairc Naomh Eoin with 101 boys and girls taking part including a special appearance by a number of top players, coaches and personalities including the one and only Joe Brolly. Camp JMac is a credit to Cormac McMullan and the extended McMullan family from its inception in difficult circumstances six years ago to this year's camps at Mayobridge and St Johns.

The upcoming weekly cleaning rota for the clubrooms is Pep Keenan's group for week commencing 23 August.

The next committee meeting is on Tuesday 25 August.

St Johns Lotto numbers were 1, 16, 20 & 26. Alan Henderson and Conor/Eileen Murphy were £10 winners. The jackpot is now £1,200.
