DCAL Minister visits Carryduff GAC
In response to a question in the Assembly chamber, DCAL Minister Carál Ní Chuilín had indicated she would visit Carryduff GAC herself to see the contribution made by the club to the local community and hear something about the club's plans for the future. The Minister visited Páirc Aodha Dhuibh in resplendent sunshine on Thursday evening and various officers of the club met with her to discuss the club's on-going activities and development plans for the future. The Minister was particularly interested in the inter-generational aspect of the club's activities, the contribution being made to youth development and how the club intended to further develop its facilities.
During her visit the Minister also got to take in the second half of our Under-16s game against Liatroim- thankfully the lads delivered the result!!

ACMFL Carryduff - v - Bredagh 30 June 2015
Carryduff bossed proceedings from the outset when neighbours Bredagh visited Pairc Aodha  Dhuibh to contest this All County Minor Football League fixture. Michael Woods opened accounts with a point in the 4th minute of play and thereafter the Bredagh defence looked uneasy. They conceded three frees (5th, 9th and 13th minutes) which Ronan Beatty converted without much fuss. Bredagh's first score came from Niall Smyth in the 13th minute. Bredagh had a gilt-edged opportunity to claw their way back into the game when Emmett Curran was played in one-on-one with Carryduff 'keeper Darren Ross. The Carryduff net minder did well stopping a point-blank rasping shot and 15 year old Michael Lawson, cutting his teeth at minor grade, was on hand to clear the loose ball from the Carryduff goal-line with confidence.
Carryduff hit the woodwork as Bredagh added two further points, Conor Kelly converting a free (18th) and Conor Lally (19th) adding from play. In the final ten minutes of the half Conor Mullen (20th) , Tiernan McMeel (23rd) and Darragh Connolly (24th) added points fro Carryduff and in the final minute of the half Ross saved again to keep Carryduff in pole position, ahead by 0-07 to 0-03 when the break was signalled by referee Ciaran Mooney.
The second half proved simply to be one way traffic. Conor Lally opened brightly for Bredagh pointing in the first minute of the half to reduce the deficit to three points  Daniel Guinness had added a point from play two minutes in but within six minutes Carryduff had found the Bredagh net on three occasions. Darragh Connolly finished a promising move to the Bredagh net (33rd) and Bredagh's Fintan Quinn was dismissed on a black card in the 34th minute, hauling  Carryduff's Ronan Beatty to the ground when he was in on goal. Ronan converted the spot kick and two minutes later was on the end of another Carryduff attack to finish to the Bredagh net.
Carryduff wasted a few opportunities, kicking wide as well as hitting the woodwork as Lally added Bredagh's fifth point (36th). That, however, was to be Bredagh's final score. Ronan Beatty ran riot in the final ten minutes of the half pointing in the 39th minute before bagging two further goals in the 50th and 51st minutes, the last coming from a free kick that fell to the Bredagh net. Points from Seamus McCann (26th) and Neill McGowan (30th) gave Carryduff a five point advantage at the break;  Carryduff 1-05 Longstone 0-03.

A spirited performance with a disciplined contribution from their defence saw Carryduff collect two valuable league points when An Ríocht visited Páirc Aodha Dhuibh on Friday evening.
