FOOTBALL
CLONDUFF U14 FOOTBALLERS TAKE PRIDE OF PLACE!
Regional Feile Peil in Mullingar
The Clonduff under 14 team were victorious in the shield competition in the Feile in Mullingar, where they played some excellent football throughout the day against top quality teams from other counties. The boys opened up with a good win over a strong St Joseph's Doora/Barefield team from Clare. Next up was a very physically big The Downs team from Westmeath, the Clonduff boys never got going and suffered their only defeat of the day. Good character was shown to bounce back and record a comfortable victory over Leitrim champions Leitrim Gaels. This victory qualified the boys for the shield final against Oran of Roscommon. Clonduff saved their best performance for the final where they played terrific attacking football throughout to record a 8-6 to 3-4 victory. All players can be proud of their performances throughout the day. The panel of players was

HURLING
Down Junior Hurling League Clonduff 2-16 v Castlewellan 2-5
Clonduff Senior Hurlers entertained Castlewellan at Home on Monday evening roughly five weeks before the sides are due to meet in the championship. Still short a few regular players, the Yellas played some excellent hurling in the first 20 minutes go 8-1 clear. The remaining 10 minutes was much closer with the Town getting some good scores and passages of play to close the gap to 6 points at half time.
The first score of the 2nd half was a Castlewellan Goal and some sloppy defending from the yellows was starting to prove costly. A second yellow card saw Clonduff go down to 14 men but  at this stage, scores from Brendan Britton and Rián Branagan settled the side. Team: Niall Quinn, Jamie Lowry, Danny Nugent,JJ Gilmore, Declan Rooney, Sean Downey, Darragh Downey, John Murphy, Mark Downey, Brendan Britton, Rián Branagan, Rhys Ward, Chris Young, Paul Bloomfield, Patrick Branagan
