St Johns club notes

The Seniors lost by a point away to Ballymartin last Wednesday evening on a scoreline of Ballymartin 0-11 St Johns 1-7. They will feel hard done by not to come away with the points against the home side who are unbeaten this season. Scorers: Conor Burns 1-0, John Clarke 0-2, Marty Keenan 0-2, Conor Branniff 0-1, Mickey Flynn 0-1 & Anthony Doran 0-1. Their next fixture is on Friday 3 July when they are at home to Loughinisland.
The Reserves were away to Darragh Cross on Sunday evening. Score details in next weeks notes. On Sunday 28 June they are at home to Dundrum.

The ladies had no fixture this week. On Saturday evening they are scheduled to be back in action when they are at home to Aughlisnafin.

The Minors were at home to Drumaness on Tuesday 23 June. Score details in next weeks notes.

The Under 16s travelled to Dromara on Thursday night for the start of the second round of the league. We were playing great in the first half winning primary possession all the time, and taking some great scores. We were winning at half time, but Dromara were having none of it as the second half started they went all out to reduce the score.
 
They got 3 goals in the second half but the lads really pulled together as a team. Tiernan really shone in the second half along with Rory with these two winning a lot of ball supplied our forwards. Callum had a huge game scoring 3-5. The final score was Dromara 4-11 St Johns 7-12. Scores came from Tiernan 1-4, Dylan 1-0, Andrew 1-2, Owen 1-1, Rory 1-1 and Ciaran 0-1. This Thursday they are at home to Ardglass.

The Under 14s had a convincing 4-23 to 8-5 win away to Castlewellan last Monday evening and then not narrowly by 5-15 to 7-11 at home to Bryansford just 48 hours later. On Monday 22 June they were at home to Teconnaught (score details in next weeks notes) and then travel to play St Pauls on Monday 29 June.

The Under 12s were away to Bryansford on Sunday morning. Score details in next weeks notes. On Sunday 28 June they are at home to Bredagh.

The Under 10s are hosting Aughlisnafin, Carryduff and Darragh Cross at Pairc Naomh Eoin on Saturday morning.

The Under 8s enjoyed their blitz on Saturday morning in Burren with group games against Burren, Mayobridge and Bosco. They lost out in the quarter finals after a 1 point defeat by Aughlisnafin. The young squad put in an excellent performance in all their games and are showing great progress as the season goes on. Keep up the practice! Thanks to all the parents and family members who came along to give their support. On Saturday 27 June the Under 8s are taking part in a blitz in Bryansford against the host club, Castlewellan, Aughlisnafin, Saul and Ballykinlar.

Action Cancer's Big Bus will be back at St Johns on Saturday 18 July. All mammogram appointments have been booked. The club shop will be open on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.

The upcoming weekly cleaning rota for the clubrooms is Una Savage's group for week commencing 28 June.
