The medals were presented by Glasdrummans Connaire Harrison and Ballymartins Paddy Greene. also included in photo are mentors Paul and Johnny and Glasdrummans chairman Gary McGreevy.
u-12 training will be on Sunday morning at the St. Mart's primary school Glasdrumman from 11am until 12.30pm.
Youth club was a great success again on Friday night with the younger group having a Minecraft party and the older group celebrating the Chinese new year. A good night was had by all.
On Saturday night Glasdrumman AOH hall resounded with the sounds of pounding hooves, excited cries and betting slips flying through the air. Glasdrumman G.A.C.'s Night at The Races was under starter's orders. As each race was put up on the big screen we had some wonderful combinatons of horses and jockeys ranging from the sublime Istabraq with Tommy Carberry to My Lovely Horse with Father Dougall Maguire, from He Fell over ridden by Stevie G to the Ballagh Cowboy ridden by Quiney Boy and many more. Andy and Ciaran ensured that odds were called and races run. A great night's craic was had by who attended. Club Chairman Gary Mc Greevy thanked all who had sponsored races, bought horses,, collected the bets, served the teas , took adverts out in our racing programme and Glasdrumman AOH for the use of their premises for the event.
On Sunday the Club's run in the Senior Scor came to an honourable end in Saval. Despite great performances by Declan Grant in the solo singing, Declan, Donna ,Sean and Tony in the Ballad Group there were no complaints as the solo singers and ballad groups from Rostrevor and Clonduff progress to represent South Down in the County Final next Sunday in St. Malachy's High School Castlewellan. Worthy winners and runners up in both sections. Congratulations also to Attical for their succesin the Leiriu section. We wish all the South Down representatives from Glenn and Ballyholland in Recitation, Mayobridge in Set dancing, Ballyholland and Mayobridge in Ceili dancing and Clonduff and Mayobridge in instrumental music.
Friday night in Attical sees the quiz team of John ,Jim, Tony and Conor take part in the South Down Trath na gCeist.
Congratulations to Ellen Marks on being picked as player for the year for Ballymartin ladies' football Senior team and we wish her team well in this year's Senior Championship. Congratulations also Declan Grant for his chairman's award from Balymartin for his work with the Ballymartin under 14 and under 16 ladies' teams.
