Kilcoo Club Notes

February 23, 2015

Kilcoo GAC got back to business this week with the opening round of the Premier Reserve League giving our Second's team their first competitive action of 2015. Played on Friday evening under lights Kilcoo GAC were hosts to Saval. The relatively small crowd witnessed some very entertaining football played on a bitterly cold evening. Kilcoo fielded a team made up of some younger players mixed in with a number of more seasoned campaigners.
Kilcoo played an attractive brand of attacking football and put Saval under pressure right from the throw in. Whilst Kilcoo dominated for large tracts of this game Saval did put the home team under pressure for parts of this game and showed that on a different day they would be a handful for any team, but it was the Kilcoo lads that ran out comfortable winners in the end.
Disappointingly Kilcoo's Third's team did not get any competitive football this weekend due to their game being called off on Sunday afternoon.
Last weekend the club's representatives in the East Down Scór final had an excellent outing with Teresa McLaughlin finishing a close second in the recitation and the clubs Léiriú act claiming the title. Congratulations to all concerned and thanks to those that did the hard work of organising this.
