Shane O'Neills Club Notes

February 23, 2015

Senior Men

Our senior men had their first outing of the season on Sunday with a challenge game at home to Newry Mitchells. The game was played in atrocious weather conditions and credit must go to both teams for putting on a decent display. It proved to be a good run out for the Shanes with all players, including those new to the panel getting some game time. They have another game arranged for Friday 6th March away to Ballymartin. Training continues as normal this week.

Senior, Minor & U16 Ladies Training
A strength and conditioning training programme for the above ladies teams continues every Tuesday evening from 6.45pm - 7.45pm and Friday evening at 7.15pm, finishing on Friday, 13th March. Each session will cost £3.00 per person and is also open to all family and friends should they wish to attend. U14 girls who plan to play U16 football do not need to attend these sessions but can do so if they wish.

Minor Boys
All minor boys are asked to note that they should all be attending training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to take part in pre-season training along with the seniors. All eligible players are asked to get involved in these training sessions - no excuses.

U16 Boys

The U16 boys played a challenge game on Sunday morning at home to Newry Bosco. The match itself was played in driving rain and howling wind and great must go to both sets of players for entertaining game which saw the Shanes claim the win by seven points, 2 - 10 to 2 - 3, with the entire panel getting a good run out. Training takes place on Thursday evening at 7.00pm at the field with another game scheduled for next Sunday morning.
