Sean Ward is the new manager of Burren.

The former Burren and Down star replaces Paddy Carr, who was appointed manager of Roscommon kingpins St. Brigid's last weekend. Burren lost their second successive Down SFC final to Kilcoo this year, but hopes are high that it will be a case of third time lucky in 2015 under Ward, who is a revered figure in the club.

He has enjoyed tremendous success with Burren underage teams, leading the U21s to a five-in-a-row of county titles as well as to a pair of Ulster titles. He now returns to his native club after a spell in charge of St. John's with hopes of replicating his many underage successes at senior level.
