This Friday evening Kilcoo GAC's mass for deceased members will be held in St Malachy's Church Kilcoo at 7.30pm. All members that can be there should come along and wear club colours if possible.
Friday 28th November is fast approaching. That's the date for Kilcoo's "Let's Dance". Tickets are on sale from all of the participants, any committee member and at the shop in Kilcoo. This is shaping up to be a truly memorable night and one certainly not to be missed.
Now that things are quiet on the playing fields Kilcoo GAC are currently working to launch a new 5 year club development plan. This plan will be a road map of the direction that the club will follow in the near future. Unfortunately this kind of stuff is not as interesting as games and the like and sometimes goes unnoticed, but we will be offering members the opportunity to have an input and we ask that you give us your feedback. We ask you for your input so that we all have a say in what direction we go and this plan will look at all aspects of our club.
Another date for your dairy is December 9th which shall be the date of the club's AGM. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the website www.kilcoo.gaa.ie or can be got from any committee member.
As many of you will be aware the club has appointed Paul McIver as manager of the men's senior team and joining him shall be Declan Morgan. Paul is the current Derry under 21 manager and he shall join Kilcoo when Derry completes their campaign. Declan is a highly regarded trainer within the county and we look forward to working with both these men and wish them well in their appointments.
With the Scór Sinsear season fast approaching we ask the any member over 17 years of age that wishes to take part give their name to any committee member asap.
How many times have you either complained or heard someone else complain about the referee? Well now's your chance to do something about it. Both the Ladies County Board and the GAA are seeking to recruit new referees for training. Now this is not as daunting a task as it might seem, with new referees not being expected to stand in the middle of some of the tougher games. As a recruit to either board you would receive full support through training in the rules and procedures and then introduction into underage blitzes. Then and only with your consent would a referee begin to move up through the ranks. With most players of our games having never seen anything which remotely resembles a rule book I would recommend that some of you consider doing this course if only to get up to scratch with the rules. Anyone interested should speak with any committee member.
