Kilcoo GAC club notes

November 11, 2014

Last week the under 12 and a half team completed their season with a trip to Bredagh. The young lads put in a strong shift but the city team emerged victorious. This was their final game in what has been a great season for these players many of whom played at under 12 and under 14 level.
On Saturday evening some of our first aiders and representatives of our executive committee travelled to the Ulster GAA President's Awards in Templepatrick. Kilcoo GAC having been short listed for an award under the Duty of Care section o f the Club Maith Awards relating to first aid were invited to attend. This had come about as a result of treatment our highly valued first aiders had given to both our own players and members of other clubs. Kilcoo GAC were announced as the winners in this section and we both thank and congratulate our first aiders. Well done. Congratulations also to Clonduff who won an award under the Governance section, and to Saval and CPN who also received awards. Congratulations also to Clonduff Camogs on winning the Ulster Championship and to Portaferry on winning the Ulster hurling title, truly historic feats, well done.

At the East Down Scor semi final in Dundrum on Sunday evening Kilcoo GAC entered two instrumental music teams. Both of them performed really well but didn't qualify for the final. However this was the first time in a lot of years that the club had entered in this section and both the young musicians and Miss Rooney and Mrs Mussen from St Malachy's Primary should be thanked and congratulated for the time and effort that they put in preparing these youngsters.
Tickets are selling fast for the Let's Dance and anyone that wishes to get them would need to move quickly. Copies of Kilcoo GAC's history marking 100 years of the club are on sale and can be gotten by contacting Roger Morgan or any committee member.
