Ulster GAA President's Awards 2014
Clonduff Club is very honoured to have been shortlisted for a President's Award based on their recent Club Maith submission but to actually win such a prestigious award for Club Governance is indeed another great milestone in our illustrious history.
The Awards were presented at a Gala Dinner in The Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick on Saturday 8th November. Down were undoubtedly the big winners on the night picking up no fewer than eight awards - four of the the eleven awarded for Club Maith! Congratulations to the the winners and particularly the Down recipients - Kilcoo, Saval and Warrenpoint (also Club Maith), Ronan Barry (Referee), Down Camogie, Down Ladies Football and John (Tommy Joe) Farrell (Services to Education).
It was indeed a night to be proud of!

Ulster GAA Writers Awards 2014
Many congratulations to the two Clonduff men who led Down Camogie and Ladies Football - Alistair McGilligan and Mark Copeland respectively - to All Ireland glory in September. The boys were honoured at the Annual GAA Writers Awards in Burndoran on Saturday 1st November. Alistair's Down Camogs won the Kay Mills Premier Junior title with seven Clonduff girls on the panel. Mark's Down Ladies won the Mary Quinn Intermediate title with Ryan McShane as his right-hand man!

2015 SCÓR NA nÓG
What a great night for Clonduff GAA Club in the first round of the 2015 Scór na nÓg competitions on home ground in St Patrick's Primary School, Hilltown! Clonduff not only had competitors in every event but had two solo singers and two reciters and will have three teams in the Quiz later in the month involving almost 50 children! A big thank you to the children and their parents for representing Clonduff Club but also to the mentors who helped prepare the children and to our hard-working Cultural and Community Officer, Jimmie Cousins.
Apart from many of the youngsters making their stage debut, our Scór stalwart Eileen McCusker was making her debut as Ban an Tí and what a great job she did!
Many thanks to St Pat's for facilitating the local round, and the Club members who helped steward the event, those who made/served teas, sandwiches, ran the tuckshop and helped clean up at the end of the evening. A big thank you also to South Down Board members who attended and the families and friends of all the participants filling the school hall to capacity and creating such a wonderful atmosphere.
It is important for the children and their parents to remember that Scór na nÓg is an U16 competition!
Clonduff had winners in Ceili Dancing, Leíruí and Set Dancing and they will progress to the South Down Final in St Mark's High School, Warrenpoint on Sunday 23rd November at 5pm. Clonduff had runners up in Solo Singing (Kayleigh McPolin), Recitation (Brian McGreevy and Charlotte O'Hare), Instrumental Music and Ballad Group who will go to the Qualifier in Mayobridge along with runners up from the other two venues on Saturday 15th November at  4pm. Two more competitors from each discipline will be selected to progress to the South Down Final.
Well done everybody and best wishes for the next round.

CAMOGIE
Ulster Minor Camogie Championship - Down 1-7 Antrim 3-7
There was no joy for the Down Minor Camogs in Leitrim on Sunday afternoon - the third venue as result of the recent poor weather conditions. The Down girls just couldn't get to grips with the poor underfoot conditions. Clonduff players on the team were: Ciara Tumilty, Cassie Fitzpatrick, Clare McGilligan, Lizzie Wilson, Petrina Lively, Jenna Boden and Michaela Murphy.

FOOTBALL
U21 Football Championship - Rostrevor v Clonduff
Clonduff U21s travelled over Reed Hall on Sunday morning, 9th November to play local rivals Rostrevor in a game where both teams needed to win or they would exit the competition.
Clonduff settled quickly and dominated the opening ten minutes but did not make it count on the scoreboard, wasting several great chances to build a commanding lead. The home team settled and totally dominated the next 15 minutes and went into a commanding 7 points to 2 lead with five  mins remaining in the half. However three unanswered points left Clonduff only trailing by two at the interval.
The first five mins of the second half followed a similar pattern to that of the first half - missed chances by Clonduff followed by a score for Rostrevor. However the boys in yellow really rolled up their sleeves and began to dominate between the two 45s. They started to move the ball a bit quicker and their superior fitness meant that they had Rostrevor encamped in their own half for long periods. Clonduff outscored the home team 8 points to 2 in the 2nd half and ran out winners by 4 points. A huge well done to everyone.
Team: Conal Brown, Kevin Smith, Shay Murnin, Declan Gribben, Eamonn Grant, Rory McQuaid, Caolan McAvoy, Jamie Curran, Liam McAleavey, Sean Downey, Patrick O'Hagan, David Quinn, Jayme Gribben, Rian Branagan,Barry O'Hagan. Subs used: Darren Harper, Daper, Danny Burns, Conor Lowry
