Things were relatively quiet around the club following all of the buzz and hype of recent weeks. That doesn't mean however that there was no action. On Wednesday evening the Fourth's team played their final game of their inaugural season, and what a season it has been. With home advantage against Bryansford Third's, if Kilcoo won this game they would finish the league on equal points with Bryansford and thus force a playoff. With this in mind the home team started in determined fashion but despite their very best efforts the visitors were not going to allow themselves to be put in the position of having to play again to settle the league. Whilst Bryansford were on the night a better team and worthy of their win the home team showed why in their first year they had come so close to claiming honours. This team has shown all year that there is a need and demand for it and it has proven a great place for breeding young players. Well done to all of the players and management.
On Sunday two young players from Kilcoo had the privilege of playing on Croke Park. Young Cailum Madine and Eva McEvoy represented Kilcoo in the games which take part annually. Congratulations. Next Saturday Kilcoo's under 12 Camogs will travel to Croke Park to play in a blitz, enjoy. Also a massive thanks to Emmett Kelly and Co Solicitors for their generous sponsorship of kit bags for the under 12 camogs ahead of their trip to Croke Park.
