FIRST EVER HURLING CAMP IN CLONDUFF - Monday 11th - Friday 15th August
There was great Enthusiasm by the Coaches and the Children at our first ever Hurling Camp! Numbers may have been small but with the enthusiasm and support it can only go from strength to strength. The coaches are aiming to keep the enthusiasm going right through the winter with indoor hurling.
Coaches Rhys Ward, Darragh Downey, Mark Downey, Damian Farnon and Paddy Branagan gave their time willingly and voluntarily - Thanks boys - this is what's great about our games!
Well done to Damian for organising and to his young coaches and the little less than young Paddy Branagan!

ANNUAL CAMOGIE CAMP IN CLONDUFF PARK
There was a great turnout of girls at the well-established Camogie Camp sponsored by Newry & Mourne District Council.
The 40 or so young girls were coached by Cousins Jenna Boden and Teenie Lively, Orla Gribben and Clare McGilligan.
The Camogie Camp is now well established in the Clonduff Calendar and continues to go from strength to strength - something to which the brand new Hurling Camp can aspire.

HURLING
Minor Hurling Championship Semi-Final Clonduff 2-13 v Warrenpoint 3-4
Clonduff minors secured their position in the championship final after holding off a late Warrenpoint fight back in the semi-final at Ballyholland on Saturday.
Playing with a strong breeze in the first half, Clonduff opened with a Patrick Brannigan point inside the first minute.
They extended their lead courtesy of some excellent free taking from Darragh Downey and some fine points from play from Conor Murray, Rhys Ward and Christopher Lynch to charge into a 0-10 to 0-1 lead at half time.
Despite starting the second half strongly with a well taken goal by Conor Murray, Clonduff began to struggle when playing against he breeze in the second half, and some good play from Warrenpoint put pressure on the Clonduff players. However, thanks to some excellent defending from Dean Byrne, Declan Rooney and Rory Hughes, the Warrenpoint attack was held at bay for much of the second half.
A further goal for Clonduff from Christopher Lynch after some fine work from Lorcan Brannigan gave Clonduff a cushion and even two late goals from Warrenpoint could not close the gap and Clonduff held on to win by six points.
They now go on to face Carryduff in the final in two weeks' time.
Clonduff team: Charlie Carr (0-1), Gerard Coghlin, Dean Byrne, Niall O'Hare, Rory Hughes, Declan Rooney, Conor Murray (1-2), Lorcan Brannigan, Darragh Downey (0-5), Christopher Lynch (1-2), Rhys Ward (0-2), Jake Brannigan, David Byrne, Rory McGivern, Patrick Brannigan (0-1).

FOOTBALL
Senior Football Championship 2nd Group Game - Castlewellan 2-14 v Clonduff 2-10
Clonduff should have, could have and certainly deserved to get something from this game in Pairc Esler on Friday night. They gave it a good rattle but just fell short on the night.
In the group, Ballyholland secured their second win, narrowly, over Drumgath on Thursday night - they are Clonduff's final group game opponents next week-end. This has now become a 'must win' game for The Yellas - only two teams from each group proceed to the knock-out stages.

Minor Football Championship - Clonduff 2-8 v Bredagh 0-8
