U12 Football An Riocht v Warrenpoint

U14 Camogie An Riocht v Mayobridge
In the U14 Camogie Championship semi-final played at Dunavil, An Riocht beat Mayobridge on Tuesday night with twelve players scoring over the hour. This team continues to progress and it is a measure of their development after reaching the U12 final for the last two years. An Riocht were missing several players due to holidays however the depth of the squad was seen to full effect and now there will be great competition for places for the County Final.
An Riocht won the Feile Shield in May of this year, they will now work hard for the 17th August Final against the strong Ards outfit Ballygalget who reached the All Ireland Feile quarter-final.
An Riocht will play the Armagh County winners Ballymacnab over the next week to prepare for their final appearance; the whole club should be very proud of this team and many parents showed up to support the girls on Tuesday past, the same support will be needed again.
Team: Naomi Finnegan, Orlaigh O' Rourke, Caoimhe Lee Speirs, Holly Killen, Mollie Ireland, Caitlin Quinn, Kara Sloan, Andrea O Neill, Eve Doran, Caoimhe Donnan, Ciarrai Connor, Clare Fearon, Rachel Cunningham, Aoife Mc Dowell, Anna Rose Mc Kay, Nannette Campbell.

U16 Football Kilcoo v An Riocht
The U16 Footballers won in Kilcoo on Thursday by 3-11 to 0-8.

U18 Football An Riocht v Ballyholland
The Harps failed to field propelling An Riocht to the top of the table. There have now been seven walk overs since the tail end of June in what until then had been a competitive enough division, a sure sign it has gone on too long.

Reserve Football Downpatrick v An Riocht
The Reserve Footballers remain in contention for promotion; four wins from their four remaining matches will secure the league title. They so nearly became undone in Downpatrick on Sunday, just about sneaking a 5-6 to 4-8 victory after a below par performance. Both sides struggled throughout with the big pitch asking too much of them.
Hoops led two nil after ten minutes when Conor Cole reacted quickest to a rebound to fire in the opening goal.
An Riocht led by one in the twenty eighth minute when Brian Sloan forced in a high cross at the back post for their second goal but Downpatrick struck for two quick goals before the break to lead 2-5 to 2-3.
An Riocht brought on all four substitutes for the second half.
Scores were hard to come by on the restart but in the forty fourth minute Damian Sherry rose bravely between keeper and defender to flick a third goal and when Neil Doran shot low to the net in the fiftieth minute An Riocht led 4-5 to 2-7.
The home side shot their third goal but within a minute Paddy Cole hit the visitors fifth before with five minutes remaining Downpatrick levelled at 5-5 to 6-2.
It could have gone either way but it was Neil Doran who popped up with the winning point to keep the race for silverware on track.
Team: B Allen, S Corr, K Colgan, J McCartan, J O'Rourke, A O'Hanlon, S McVeigh, B Sloan 1-0, G Keenan, R Cunningham 0-2, N McArdle, J Cunningham, C Cole 1-0, P Cole 1-1, N Doran 1-3. Subs: S Doran, S McArdle, D Sherry 1-0, Darren Doyle.

Senior Football An Riocht v Atticall
The Senior Footballers beat Atticall by 2-13 to 0-11 at Dunavil on Friday past. Management kept faith with the players who had won in Shamrocks and their trust was rewarded with another victory while some of the returning seniors got game time in the second half.
Team: Brendan McVeigh, Michael Trainor, Conor McVeigh, Michael Clarke, Paul Sherry, Deaglan O'Reilly, Aidan Sloan, Paul Murney, Conor Cole 0-2, Paddy Gartland 0-2 (45), Darren White, Deaglan Morgan 0-1, James Reilly, John Clarke 0-6 (4f), Damian Sherry 0-1.
Subs: Neil Doran, Liam McVeigh, Joe McVeigh, Rory Cunningham 1-1, Noel McArdle 1-0.

Senior Camogie An Riocht v Ballyholland
An Riocht Senior Camogs exited the Championship to an added time goal versus Ballyholland at Atticall on Wednesday past. The Harps dominated early on and led 1-1 to no score after twelve minutes, the goal coming from a high ball into the An Riocht square which was not dealt with.
Joanna Sloan made a couple of good saves to keep her side in the match and Aine O'Reilly, Nicole Kelly and Louise Rodgers defended strongly as the Mourne girls struggled to settle.
Eventually An Riocht got going; urged on by the impressive Marie Trainor at centre field in the twentieth minute Aine Fearon opened for An Riocht with a pointed free and within a minute added a goal from another placed ball to tie the match.
Ballyholland hit back with their second point but Carrie Killen fired in a second An Riocht goal and Emma Jane Magee added a third in a hectic finale to the half.
Back came Ballyholland and despite another good stop from Joanna Sloan the Newry team slotted their second goal but there was still time for Sinead O'Rourke, goal, and Aine Fearon, point, to leave An Riocht 4-3 to 2-2 ahead at the break.
An Riocht had a few chances on the restart to extend the lead but it was Ballyholland who claimed the vital first score of the half, a goal.
Aine Fearon replied from a free but in the fortieth minute Harps goaled again. An Riocht held out however and Aine Fearon hit her second goal in the forty sixth minute before Colleen Fearon pointed with eight minutes to play to put An Riocht 5-5 to 4-2 clear.
However Ballyholland were getting stronger and regularly creating a player over in their attacks and finished the match as they had begun it, pressing An Riocht who eventually began to wilt under the pressure and Harps hit 1-1 to leave just two points separating the teams with the hour up. An Riocht held out a further three minutes but in the fourth minute of added time conceded the sixth goal to lose in the cruellest fashion by a point, 5-5 to 6-3.
With the Division Two League Cup secured, the Summer League ongoing and Kilmacud Sevens to look forward to An Riocht still have plenty to play for.
Team: Joanna Sloan, Clara Killen, Louise Rodgers, Aisling Clarke, Ciara Cunningham, Nicole Kelly, Aine O'Reilly, Colleen Fearon 0-1, Marie Trainor, Aine Fearon 2-4, Carrie Killen 1-0, Sinead O'Rourke 1-0, Sarah Rodgers, Emma Jane Magee 1-0, Danielle Higgins.
