FOOTBALL
SFL Loughinisland 3-14 Clonduff 2-11
Following two close opening games, winning one, losing one, Clonduff had a bit more to spare in Loughinisland. A great second half by the Yellas secured the points as there was only a point in it at half time - 2-7 to 2-6 in favour of the visitors.
There were great performances all over the field especially from the young lads that are blending in well with the more experienced heads on the team. However, the main feature of the second half was the long range scores from placed balls by Jason Brown who finished the game with 1-7 to his name, all but two of them coming in the second half. Young Karl O'Hagan scored 1-5 all in the first half. The other goal came from another fledgling Liam McGreevy.
Whilst the scorers take the plaudits there was a lot of brilliant work done by the backs to keep the 'Island forwards at bay.
Team and scorers: Gary Haughian, Kieran Trainor, Eamon O'Reilly, James Killen, Conor Brown (0-1), Aidan Carr, Shane O'Hagan, Paudie Brown, Damien Canning, Bernard Branagan, Patrick O'Hagan, Barry O'Hagan, Karl O'Hagan (1-5), Jason Brown (1-7), Liam McGreevy (1-1). Subs used: Mark McPolin, Rory McQuaid, Gary McDonald.
MFL Bryansford v Clonduff
Clonduff's minor footballers chalked up their first win of the new season with a fine display against Bryansford on Tuesday evening. From the throw-in, the victors showed great resilience in defence and solid teamwork throughout in moving the ball forward. The competitiveness of both teams almost brought the game to boiling point towards the end but the cooler heads were on Clonduff shoulders and the Yellas prevailed as worthy winners. The final score was Bryansford 1-9, Clonduff 3-8.
Clonduff team and scorers: Mark Bradley (1-0 - penalty), Darragh O'Hanlon, Niall O'Hagan, Lorcan Brannigan, Shane Milligan (0-2),Thomas Murnin, Pierce Murnin, Steven McConville (0-3), Darragh McPolin, Ryan Ward, Niall O'Hare (0-1), Conor Lowry (0-1), Ryan McGreevy (1-1), Mark Devlin (1-0), Charlie Carr. Subs: Paudi Harper, Caolan McEvoy, Patrick Gribben, Michael Grant, James McGreevy, Peter McAleavey.
U14 Feile Peil - Monday 21st April
Clonduff is fielding two teams in the Feile Peil in Newry on Easter Monday to give all the lads the opportunity of playing meaningful football.

HURLING
Ulster Hurling League - Camloch V Clonduff
Clonduff travelled to Craobh Rua (Camloch) on Saturday evening knowing how important this game could prove in the later stages of the league. Despite a quick start by Clonduff registering the first two scores in quick succession the half didn't continue like this and they found themselves trailing by 1-7 to 0-4 at half time. After a slow start to the second half Clonduff battled back into the game and at times dominated the 2nd half, with brilliant performances from Lorcan Brannigan and Declan Rooney at opposite ends of the field. However Clonduff simply left themselves too much to do against a very physical Craobh Rua side who ran out winners 1-12 to 0-12.
Team and subs: Liam McParlan, Declan Rooney, Danny Nugent, Darragh Downey, Sean Downey, Rián Branagan, Frankie Quinn, Andy Quinn, John Murphy, Jamie Lynch, Shane Murray, Mark Downey, Pearce Branagan, Gavin O'Hagan, Lorcan Brannigan, Hugh Murphy, Ryan McShane, Jamie Lowry and David Quinn.
Down Minor Hurling League Div 2 - Ballyvarley 2-3 Clonduff 2-17
Down Minor Hurling League Div 2 - Ballyvarley 2-3 Clonduff 2-17
Clonduff Minor Hurlers started the year strongly with a convincing fourteen point win over Ballyvarley in their opening game of the league.
Despite missing a number of regular starting players, Clonduff easily dominated this game from the outset and early points from Patrick Brannigan, Darragh Downey and Lorcan Brannigan put them three points up inside the opening few minutes.
Further scores from play from Declan Rooney, Christopher Lynch and Niall O'Hare put them further in front and strong defending from Dean Byrne, Jake Brannigan and Gerard Coughlin kept the Ballyvarley attack quiet for the opening twenty minutes.
A Ballyvarley goal late in the first half put some pressure on Clonduff, but, playing with the wind in the second half, they soon pulled away again and further points from Lorcan Brannigan and a Darragh Downey goal saw Clonduff pull well clear.
A superb second half save from goalkeeper Charlie Carr ensured that Ballyvarley did not close the gap further and some fine attacking play from Rory McGivern, Dylan Downey and Thomas Murnin led to Stephen McConville securing a second Clonduff goal to put the result beyond doubt.
A late Ballyvarley goal merely put a better complexion on the result as Clonduff took the victory at a canter.
More difficult challenges now lie ahead for the team, who will seek to extend their unbeaten run next Wednesday against Warrenpoint.
Clonduff team: Charlie Carr, Dean Byrne, Jake Brannigan, Declan Rooney (0-2), Gerard Coughlin, Lorcan Brannigan (0-7), Darragh Downey (1-3), Rory McGivern, Christopher Lynch (0-2), Niall O'Hare (0-1), Patrick Brannigan (0-2), Stephen McConville (1-0), Thomas Murnin, Dylan Downey

Ladies football
Ladies Football Intermediate League - Bright v Clonduff
Clonduff Ladies again found the going tough away to Bright on Saturday evening finding scores hard to come by. They held their own in the first half but with just the bare minimum number of players there were no subs but they kept fighting to end. Next game at home to Burren.
LADIES U14 FL Clonduff 3-16 v Ballymartin 3-4
A great result for the Clonduff U14 ladies footballers Wednesday evening standing up to a very strong Ballymartin challenge. Many of the girls have moved up from the U12 this year and have claimed starting positions already. In the backs Corshena McCoy, Summer Brannigan, Amy Lowry, Sinead and Kyla Woods and Fianna Burns were in excellent form. Clara Cowan and Erin Rafferty in the middle dominated while up front the younger girls of Emma McGreevy, Paddi Fitzpatrick, Allana Donnan and Isabella O'Hare were in fine form ably assisted by Tamzin Brannigan, Elisabeth O'Hanlon, Caitlin Hughes and Aoife Brown. Shannon O'Reilly was great in goals and Cara Boden was strong in the final minutes after entering as a substitute. Full attendance at Training is essential to claim a place on this starting 15 Team.

CAMOGIE
Thanks to everyone who supported the cake sale as a baker or a buyer. Your support is greatly appreciated. A great success!
Congratulations to Isabella O'Hare who was the lucky winner of the Easter hamper.
Down Minor Camogie Waterford 2-12 Down 2-5
The Down girls had a terrible first half in the All Ireland Semi Final - they trailed 1-10 to 0-1 at the break. They recovered well in the second half but had left themselves too much to do. The Clonduff contingent of Michaela Murphy, Jenna Boden, Clare McGilligan, Ciara Tumilty, Cassie Fitzpatrick, Petrina Lively and Lizzie Wilson - great experience, nevertheless.
Down Senior Camogs into All Ireland League Final!
Down Senior Camogs, coached by Alistair McGilligan, and backboned by nine Clonduff players reached the All Ireland League Final by virtue of a two point win v Meath (who beat Down in All Ireland Championship Final two years ago) in the League Semi final and they now face Cork in the Final. Well done to all concerned.
