GAA clubs are to share in a €500,000 windfall from the eight concerts scheduled for Croke Park this year.

Country music legend Garth Brooks will play the Jones' Road venue five times in July while One Directon will take to the stage for three concerts in June.

The Irish Independent reports that the GAA's management have decided to refund every €2 registration that is paid on an adult membership by clubs.

Ard Stiurthoir Paraic Duffy revealed the plan in front of an Oireachtas Committee on Communications yesterday when discussing the Sky TV deal.
