The sides were level at the break awith Dublin’s 1-3 to Down’s 0-6.

Dublin had raced into a 9 point lead early in the second half. But then Down got back to within a point before Dublin pulled away again after Eoin Wilde goaled from the rebound of his penalty attempt.

Down then took the lead by a point (which included  scores from  James Duggan – a goal ad Zach Murdock – a point). It looked very like extra time and even a penalty shoot out for a result, but it was Dublin that got the last 2 points just to edge it in the end.

Dublin’s Eoin Wilde was presented with the ‘Man of the match’ award by David Briody (Briody Bedding – sponsors of the tournament).

Dublin now play either Meath or Cill Dara in the Cup Final on Sunday evening, 18 August.

Scorers for Dublin: Eoin Wilde (3-1), Daire O’Rourke (1-1), David Keane (1-0), Michael McDonald & Davy Keogh (0-2) each, Luke Breathnach & Timmy Akinleye (0-1) each

Scorers for Down: Oisin Savage (0-8,7f), Zach Murdock (2-0), James Duggan (1-1), Eoin MccKernan, Callum Rogers, James Cahill, & Aaron Murdock (0-1) each
