Paul Brennan says Donegal's goal is to win every game they play in this year.

The reigning Ulster champions opened their McKenna Cup campaign with a 10-point victory over Queen's last weekend and will be hoping to keep the momentum going against Down in Newry on Sunday.

“Donegal’s objective this year is to win every game that is put in front of them," the wing back told the Irish News.

“And that naturally includes the McKenna Cup as well and we will be pushing on hard in every game. We will be looking for improved performances from each other and everyone involved.

“So by all means winning the Dr McKenna Cup is definitely on the radar. It was good to get back into some sort of competitive action last week after the lay-off and that was a priority for us.”

Brennan is expecting a tough challenge from a Down side who were pipped by Cavan last Sunday.

“Down will have loads of incentive to beat us on Sunday. They lost to Cavan by a point and another loss will mean they are gone," he pointed out.

“They are also under new management which always gives teams a lift and will certainly be looking to prove a point and bring much more to this game."
