New Down manager Paddy Tally has received a triple boost ahead of his first season in charge with the news that three players are set to return to the squad.

The Irish News reports that Kilcoo forwards Jerome Johnston and Paul Devlin and Castlewellan goalkeeper Michael Cunningham are all set to return to the Mourne County’s squad for 2019.

The three men sat out this year’s campaign which saw Eamonn Burns standing down after three seasons in charge.

His successor Tally is set to be without captain Niall McPartland next year as the Glenn clubman is set to move to Qatar after accepting a teaching position, while free-scoring wing back Darragh O’Halon is a long-term absentee after undergoing spinal surgery.
