*Aughlisnafin seniors got back to winning ways last week picking up maximum points against St Michaels and Newry Mitchels respectively. The game last Monday evening at home to St Michaels was a closely contested affair and the Fin led by two points at the interval. A strong second half showing capped with goals from Oran Flanagan and Calum Croskery assured the victory. Final score Aughlisnafin 3-14 St Michaels 1-16. The match ball was sponsored by Sean Willoughby of Milligan Tyres. The second game was held last Friday evening at the Abbey in Newry. It was another tight game and Shane Mooney grabbed the winning point. Final score Newry Mitchels 0-10 Aughlisnafin 0-11. Match ball sponsor Ben Willoughby & family. The lads have enjoyed a good league campaign and will now prepare for their opening Championship game at home to CPN next Tuesday 7th August at 7.30 pm.

*Our U16's were away to Saul on Sunday morning. Despite several absentees the Fin put in a decent first half but Saul led 1-6 to 1-4 by the short whistle. Saul outscored the Fin 1-4 to 0-4 in the second half to win the game. Final score Saul 2-10 Aughlisnafin 1-8. The final league game is at home to Saul next Sunday at 12.30 pm.

*Well done to our U16's footballer & Baile an Locha minor goalkeeper Morgan Croskery who was the starting goalkeeper in the Down U16 ETS footballers superb win over Kildare. This was preceeded by victories over Antrim and Dublin and saw them top their section. They now progress to the quarter finals of the Gerry Reilly competition.

*The U14's lost their first game of the season away to nearest challengers Bright. The last league game of the season is away to Drumaness next Monday.

*Our U12's finished the season with a reversal at home to Kilclief. In a low scoring game Kilclief led 2-3 to 1-3 at half time. The Fin battled gamely to hit back and level the game with only minutes remaining. But a last gasp goal saw the sea-siders clinch victory. Final score Aughlisnafin 2-6 Kilclief 3-6. It has been a good season with our team winning seven of their fourteen games to finish fourth in the league table.
