Feile Peile will be with us in less than three weeks and will require a huge volunteer effort to make it happen successfully. There is a large 'jobs board' up at Dunavil outside the Office and everyone is encouraged to add their name beside any of the multitude of jobs for as little as an hour on the Friday or Saturday - umpires, linesmen, kitchen, shop, car park, changing room supervision, first-aid, score-board, pitch stewards, we will need all the help we can get. There's no better time than right now to offer your help.

Thanks to John Morrison who took the u14 footballers for a session last week, coaching not training!

Congratulations to Grange PS who won the Master McKibben Shield at St Columbans on Friday

Thanks to everyone who supported the Quiz & Folk Night in aid of Cancer Focus and to the volunteers who helped on the night, set up before or clean up afterwards.

In the U14 Gaelic An Riocht beat Saval 10-14 to 4-7

The Senior Camogie An Riocht v Clonduff finally took place at the third time of asking on a real winter's night full of wind and rain, and resulted in a convincing 3-14 to 0-6 win for the visitors. Clonduff's physical presence, first touch and joined-up team play were the difference between the teams. All the An Riocht players battled gamely though too many were not at their best but the team can take several positives from the match and if each player can play to their potential, the next meeting can be closer. Clonduff led four nil when Aine Fearon pointed a free to get An Riocht on the scoreboard but before we could consolidate, Clonduff struck for their first goal, creating a player free in the square for the simplest of finishes. Aine added another free, though at the break we trailed 1-6 to 0-2. We created at least two good goal chances on the restart but a combination of good defending from them and poor decision making from us denied us on both occasions and Clonduff swept upfield for their second major, again pacy direct running opened up the An Riocht defence to create the simplest of finishes. Lauren Clarke replied from play but despite chances we could not register back to back scores and Clonduff had posted four further points before Aine landed a side line free. Clonduff netted a third time before Lauren trebled her tally with a couple of late points. Joanna Sloan, Louise Rodgers, Aine O'Reilly, Nicole Kelly and Sophie Bowater were best for An Riocht.

Team: Joanna Sloan, Clara Killen, Aine O'Reilly, Louise Rodgers, Nicole Cunningham, Nicole Kelly, Marie Trainor, Aine Fearon 0-3 (3f), Patrice Matthews, Maria Higgins, Sophie Bowater, Carrie Killen, Tierna Rooney, Lauren Clarke 0-3, Aoife McDowell. Sub: Colleen Fearon

In the Senior Gaelic An Riocht v Saval, we won by two points 1-12 to 0-13. A good start was key with four early scores settling our team, Saval threw everything at us on the restart and refused to be shaken off eventually going in front for the first time, seven minutes from the end but we finished as we had begun and held on for a vital win.

At the Jim Mulholland Tournament at Dunavil on Saturday 35 teams from 11 different counties played 93 games before Bellaghy Wolfetones (Derry) defeated Mullahoran Dreadnoughts (Cavan) in the Cup Final and St Ergnats Moneyglass (Antrim) beat An Riocht (Down) in the Shield Final. For the final time thanks to all the teams for their cooperation and to the army of volunteers who again faithfully turned up to make it all possible, enjoy a rest next Saturday.

Neither the U18 Camogie in Shamrocks nor the U12 Gaelic v Saval, nor the U12 Camogie in Drumaness, nor the Reserve Football in Bosco took place.

The Action Cancer Big Bus will be at Dunavil on Saturday 21st July; women aged 40 to 49 or aged 70 plus are eligible for breast screening and anyone, male or female, can apply for a health screening. Contact An Riocht Healthy Club Officer Barney McCartan for more information.

Well done to Nicole and Maria on Down's draw with Derry in the All Ireland Championship.
