KYC marked Safer Internet Day with an IT Quiz among the young people.
Anne (Insurance Officer) and Daiva (Registrar) attended the Servasport training in Castlewellan.
The three-week Football Coaching programme in Castlewellan came to a close with our coaches who attended taking great benefit from the sessions.
The Empowering Female Leaders workshop at the Tyrone Centre of Excellence was postponed.
There will be a workshop organised by Ulster Camogie on delivering an effective wall ball session with double All Ireland winning coach Joe Passmore at An Riocht on Thursday 8th March from 7pm to 8.15pm.
The Senior Footballers will open their First Division campaign in Saval at Easter and follow up with a home fixture v Ballyholland on Friday 6th April.
The Kingdom Walkers walked Newry Towpath at the weekend.
The 'All Together Now' Residential at Tollymore Outdoor Centre was a good success, thanks to the Leaders and young people, both the volunteers and participants, for their enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck into the activities; the group enjoyed the low-ropes, mountain biking, the climbing wall and a variety of indoor games.
Youth Action, to which KYC is affiliated, are currently offering young people aged 16 to 24 in the Kilkeel and Mourne area the opportunity to engage in a new youth programme called 'Amplify'. Are you in part time education or employment? Have you 18 hours a week to commit to a project? Would you like to have your lunch and travel expenses paid for and receive £8 per day for attending without affecting any benefits? Then Amplify may be for you! Amplify is starting in March 2018 and will run 3 days per week. You will have the opportunity to meet new people, take part in trips, attend residentials, training and gain qualifications. KYC are seeking performers for a St Patrick's Eve Irish Stew Night and Concert at Dunavil on Friday 16th March, storytellers, musicians, singers, dancers etc, if willing to help/participate please speak to any of the Youth Support Workers. Also, regards the St Patrick's Day Parade at 12pm in Newry on Saturday 17th March both KYC and An Riocht Camogie/Football are putting together groups to take part, again if interested contact a Youth Support Worker or a Coach asap.
